Every year, CAA receives nominations from program partners letting us know about some great Patrol Supervisors in their region. Patrol Supervisors are usually teachers that help manage the CAA School Safety Patrol program at their schools, and they act as a coach to help Patrollers flourish in their roles. One individual is awarded the CAA School Safety Patrol Supervisor of the Year award annually.
Award Selection Criteria
Eligible recipients are active CAA School Safety Patrol Supervisors in CAA South Central Ontario or CAA North and East Ontario club territory.
Examples of worthy, qualifying attributes are:
- Belief in Program Value
- Knowledge of Traffic Safety Principles
- Leadership Skills
- Dedication
- Responsibility
- Respect
- School Involvement
- Citizenship/Volunteerism
Award Eligibility
Each school within CAA South Central Ontario or CAA North and East Ontario club territory may nominate up to two Patrol Supervisors for this award.
- Patrol Supervisor must be active in the role at the time of nomination.
- Nominator may be a school official, CAA-approved training partner, bus consortium or school bus driver.
Judging Process
Patrol Supervisor of the Year is selected after the review and scoring of all eligible nominations by a panel of CAA representatives. When a final winning decision is made, a CAA representative will contact the winner’s school to advise of next steps.
Prizing
CAA School Safety Patrol Supervisor of the Year receives:
- An awards ceremony at their school
- A cheque for $1,000
- An individual keepsake and a trophy for their school to display
- A free, one-year CAA Membership
