Nominate a Patrol Supervisor.

Instructions: The CAA School Safety Patrol Supervisor, school Principal or CAA training partner should provide specific, detailed examples of the nominee’s qualifications in each of the following categories. Please keep these examples brief and in bullet-point format. The examples listed are guidelines only; please include examples that are relevant to the patrol supervisor in their environment. Where applicable, please include quantitative information — for example, helped increase student participation by 10%. Other supporting material may be included with the nomination, but at minimum four sections need to be completed.

Character limit: 1500 characters including spaces for each of the following fields.

Strong Belief in the Value of the Program (30%)

Examples may include support of lifesaving and educational benefits of the program, lobbying to advance the program, adding value to the program in the school and community, and communicating core values of the program to faculty and students.

Knowledge of Traffic Safety Principles (30%)

Examples may include knowledge of all facets of the patrol program, awareness of traffic dangers, understanding of emergency procedures, interaction with traffic, safe pedestrian and school bus loading/unloading zones, and school zones.

Leadership Skills (20%)

Examples may include morale building, education around traffic safety issues, organization and coordination of patrol program, conducting meetings and training sessions, supervision of patrol duties, and obtaining program buy-in from the school and local community.

Dedication to the Program (20%)

Examples may include volunteerism, commitment, dependability, efforts above and beyond the expected supervisor role, leadership, and educational benefits to the students.
